Starbucks has very strong sales in the latest quarter earnings report which was published on Thursday (November 1). The Seattle coffee giant now has about 18,000 stores in 61 nations.
According to Starbucks financial release for fiscal year 2012 and also for the fourth quarter (Q4-12), the world’s largest café chains will add 1,300 new stores globally in 2013. This is going to be 22 percent increase over the fiscal year of 2012.
Of the 1,300 new stores to be opened in 2013, 600 new stores will reside in the North and South America. Most of those 600 new stores will be allocated to be built in its home country.
Starbucks’s next growth region and market target is in the Asia Pacific countries including China. The coffee giant will allocate to build 600 new stores in the region. Starbucks will add over 300 stores in China alone. The remaining stores (or less than 300 stores) will be allocated in the South East Asia countries, Far East nations, South Asia countries, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, India, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and few other countries in Asia.
Due to economic turmoil in several European counties in recent years, Starbucks will only build about 100 new stores in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
