Sports cars drivers who don't mind paying $6.17 one way to test their cars on the real road can go to Texas (note: we don’t endorse reckless driving behavior). Since the Texas Legislature agreed to let drivers to drive 85 mph, they won't be getting a speeding ticket as long as they drive on a new toll road called State Highway 130 (SH-130). The highway connects two large cities between Austin and San Antonio.
Texas’s Governor Rick Perry and former Republican Party president candidate has officially opened SH-130 on Wednesday, October 24, during a ribbon cutting ceremony as builders have finally completed the final 41 miles of SH-130.
Austin is a very popular city for high-tech headquarters such as Dell Computer. San Antonio is a well-known city for tourism destination and also famous for its basketball team the Spurs. However, due to booming population in those cities, commuters between Austin and San Antonio have been facing congestion for many years, and now they can be relieved as long as they are willing to pay $6.17 to escape the crowded streets.
