The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) formed a committee to handle mobile payments revolution which include top mobile operators in America (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon)

The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) has formed a committee which is known as the Mobile Payments Committee.  This committee will carry a task to improve mobile payments in America and worldwide.  Four of the top mobile network operators including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon will join force to find solutions to create policy and solving business issues regarding mobile payments. 

The committee will guide and give direction on the best way to grow mobile payments.  One of the several options includes finding ways to attract merchants which will provide mobile payments to their consumers.  Other tasks include educating general public about mobile payments and also train merchants to start using mobile payments.

Other technology companies such as PayPal, Google and Apple are supporting the mobile payments. Several top credit card issuers such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover, will also join the committee.  Aside of that, banks include Wells Fargo and Capital One will support the new body of governance to handle mobile payments.
