Users who purchased Windows 7 hardware from June 2, 2012 to January 31, 2013 are eligible to get the Windows 8 version “Pro” for $14.99.
Microsoft also assigned a website for the Windows upgrade offer. The website has listed 140 countries that are eligible for the cheap upgrade. Go to windowsupgradeoffer.com for the full list of countries.
The Windows 8 operating system is slated for release on Friday, October 26, 2012. The announcement was made by Windows division President, Steven Sinofsky, during a Microsoft annual sales meeting on July 18, 2012.
