Since Larry Page became Google’s CEO in April 2011, over 30 products and services had been discontinued and retired. The new era started and required Google engineers to focus on web services and products that making more money for the company. Therefore, by August 20, 2012, all contents stored at Google Video will be moved to YouTube or deleted. Google Video is almost similar to YouTube and has been stopped taking uploads from users since May 2009.
One of the popular web services, iGoogle (personalized and real-time site), which was introduced in 2005, will also retire soon. According to a blog posted by Matt Eichner, Google’s General Manager for Global Enterprise Search, users will have until November 1, 2013 to shut down their iGoogle and move their data or information somewhere else.
The new era started and required Google engineers to focus on web services and products that making more money for the company.
