As we reported yesterday, Pew Internet & American Life Project found over 21% of Americans have used electronic reading devices (e-book) to read books. The Pew’s study was based on surveys of 2,986 people in America and was conducted in late 2011. On page 33 of the report shows an interesting chart, as the chart revealed e-reader market share among all makers. The makers of e-reader devices included Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, Pandigital, Kobo, and others.
While Amazon remains as King of the e-commerce, the Seattle-based company is now considered as King of the e-reader. The latest Pew’s study found Amazon Kindle captured 62% of e-reader usage in America. The other e-reader makers included Barnes & Noble Nook where it captured about 22% market share.
