After working for McDonald’s Corporation for 22 years, Don Thompson has been elected by the boards to run the world’s largest fast-food chain. The first black CEO will take the top executive seat starting on July 1, 2012. According to the fast-food company press release, Thompson started his career as an electrical engineer in 1990. Thompson is the current president and operating chief where he took the position in January 2010. Thompson was graduated from Purdue University and is a Trustee for this higher education institution which is located in Indiana. Thompson will replace the current CEO James A. Skinner. Skinner will retire after serving the fast-food company as CEO for over seven years.
