Atlanta-based United Parcel Service (UPS) to acquire Netherlands-based TNT Express to connect the express delivery business across the Atlantic Ocean

Atlanta-based United Parcel Service (UPS) and also the world’s largest company handling package-delivery have decided to expand its business across the Atlantic Ocean.  Citing several news sources on Sunday night, the parcel and logistics giant with a brown color truck company will acquire Netherlands-based TNT Express for about 5.16 billion euros or converted into American’s dollar for amount of $6.8 billion.

Netherlands-based TNT Express is now the second largest delivery company in Europe just a little bit behind the number one Deutsche Post AG (DPW)’s DHL express delivery company.

UPS had previously tried to acquire TNT Express, however, their offers were considered low by the seller.  In the meantime during the negotiation between the two continents, the Holland-based company continues to lose money in term of operating cost.
