Microsoft releases a Metro-style Xbox 360 dashboard update to all Xbox users this week. The Metro-style interface is similar to Windows Phone 7 users interface. The Metro-style is also the design language for the next generation of Windows 8 operating system which was announced this past summer. The latest update for the Xbox 360 gaming system will include voice search, a new feature utilizing search data from the software giant’s Bing decision engine.
Starting December 6, 2011, Bing will add voice search on Xbox 360 dashboard. By using a Kinect motion controller, Xbox users can use the sound of voice to conduct search via Bing. There are several search options when Xbox users conducting search, such as for searching for movies, music, games, on-demand TV, and apps. To enhance user experiences, Microsoft also partners with several third parties content providers and producers in the entertainment and technology industry including Netflix, Hulu Plus, Comcast Xfinity on Demand, HBO Go, ESPN, YouTube, TMZ, and others.
Bing decision engine voice search will only available in English language during the launch. This will be benefiting users live in America and Britain. International non-English users must have to wait for few more months to get the update for their gaming console.
