The world’s largest software company announced that it had sold close to 1 million Xbox 360 consoles during the week of Black Friday 2011. Within one week period, over 960,000 units were sold in America, while within the 24 hour of Black Friday (November 25), over 800,000 of the consoles were sold in its home country.
With all types of marketing tricks such as standalone and bundled with game console, the software company also sold over 750,000 Kinect sensors in America during the same period.
While Microsoft has been playing catch up in many technology innovations such as mobile phones and tablets computer (Apple and Google), Xbox ecosystem has continued helping Microsoft to find a bring spot among consumer products and services since the launch of Kinect hand-free controller during the first week of November 2010.
According to Microsoft blog, the November’s sales numbers will beat all Xbox competitors in term of total units count. The month of November of 2011 will be going into the record book as the eleventh straight month Xbox has surpassed PlayStation 3 and Wii in America.
