The giant computer chip company just announced that they have discovered design flaws in its newest microprocessor, the Intel 6 Series, or internal code-named as Cougar Point. Intel is prepared to offer about one billion dollar to fix those affected microprocessor and potential revenue lost for the current fiscal year. As Intel press release said “… reduce revenue by approximately $300 million ... Total cost to repair and replace affected materials and systems in the market is estimated to be $700 million.”
The “Inside” chip maker also announced that they hope to deliver a re-design chipset to customers by the end of February and plan to recall all bad microprocessors by April.
