A Swedish motorist was driving a brand new Mercedes SLS AMG sport car while got caught driving over limit. This sport car can have a maximum speed of 317km/h. It was sold in mid-2010 in Europe with MSRP of $200,000, and will be available in America in mid-2011.
According to Switzerland police record, the unnamed 37-year-old Swede drove at least 290km/h (180mph), reported bbc.co.uk. Under Swiss rules, wealth of the driver could be used to justify the speeding penalty. Prosecutors insisted that the Mercedes driver could pay a speeding ticket of $1 million, compared to the previous record of $290,000 for a Swiss driver in January this year.
