Several states in America such as Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, are reducing hundreds of millions from their education budgets and skip early age children (pre-K) programs. Before the budget crisis, pre-K programs were designed to help kids to get ready for elementary school, especially in poor neighborhood.
According to AP News, accumulated total from states’ budget cut are $350 million so far. For example, the state Illinois of has cut $48 million this year, compared to last year’s total of $32 million.
In high-end neighborhoods, rich parents usually send their kids to private preschools. On the other hand, education experts believe poorer families could only send their kids to childcare which mostly are under par to kindergarten level.
