Computer and chips manufacturers, including Intel, Dell and HP, have lowered their sales forecast for the third quarter (July to September), as back-to-school shopping season appeared to be weaker than expected. Experts believe the latest sign of trouble in computer industry will help consumers to find best bargains for PCs starting in the Labor Day (early September).
Giant chip maker Intel has lowered its projected revenue for the third quarter to $10.8 billion to $11.2 billion, reported AP. Previously, the maker of microprocessors for over 80 percent of the world's PCs stated to collect about $11.2 billion to $12 billion for the quarter.
Experts suggested that computer stores and marketers must work hard for the next few months by price cuts and aggressive promotions to lure buyers before the start of Christmas season shopping in November.
