South African president Jacob Zuma officially opened the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a fantastic opening ceremony. Over 84,000 fans filled up a new stadium that was build for the world’s largest event, reported FIFA.
After the opening ceremony, local fans cheered up their home team which tied 1-1 with Mexico at full time.
32 soccer teams from around the world will compete for the gold trophy, including USA, Britain, Germany, and Italy. Soccer analysts predict Brazil, Argentine, Spain, as this year’s favorite.
