As a hosting country, the South Africa government has built several new stadiums, upgraded airports, renovated highways and roads, while the government also promotes safe sex and preventing HIV. The government has ordered about one billion extra condoms for the upcoming world event. Organizer believes there will be over 400,000 tourists to visit South Africa during the tournament.
A world cup is generally considered the premier competition in its sport, with the victor attaining the highest honour in that sport and able to lay claim to the title of their sport's best. However, in some sports the Olympic title carries at least as much prestige.
