
A study based on 5,300 households in 2008 conducted by Jaffe Food Institute at Mount Sinai School of Medicine found that 1.4% of children in America has allergies to peanuts, as reported by
WebMD Health News. Using the same study conducted in 1997, there were only 0.4% of samples has peanut allergies. In the meantime, kids with allergies to any type of nuts increased to 2.1% in 2008, compared to 1997 which was only 0.6% of all samples.
