A new study conducted by NPD Group’s wireless market research found that Google Android operating system (OS) has passed Apple’s iPhone smartphone market share during Q-1 2010. The study show Android captured about 28% share, while Apple has only 21% share of smartphone in America since January 2010. The market leader in smartphone is still controlled by RIM's BlackBerry with about 36%.
Based on the same dataset from NPD Group, in term of mobile phone providers, AT&T still controls about 32% of users, while Verizon is at number two with 30% share, and at number three is T-Mobile with 17% of users.
