A latest data from America’s Agriculture Department (USDA) show that about 40 million Americans received food stamps in February this year, reported reuters.com. The food stamps program is to help poor people to afford buying regular and general type of foods.
However, as economy turmoil and high unemployment rate has hit America since 2008, many Americans rely on food stamps today. According to the USDA, the ratio of American in food stamps is at 1 in 8 Americans, and this is the highest record so far for the program.
