America’s aviation regulators have decided to allow pilots to take antidepressants pills while flying a plane, as reported by latimes.com. The new rule will start on Monday, April 5. The new policy will help about 10,000 pilots in America to counter depression.
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials said that the risks from side effects of antidepressants pills may not impaired pilots while flying a plane, latimes.com reported.
With the new policy, only four drugs will be allowed to use, including Prozac (by Eli Lilly), Zoloft (by Pfizer), Celexa or Lexapro (by Forest Laboratories).
