As a tradition for centuries, for good luck and more prosperity in year to come, married couples usually give away a red envelope ("hong pao") containing money to kids and young adult, mostly to own kids, relatives, and inner family. Each red envelope must have at least two piece of paper money, such as two pieces of $10 bills, or a piece of $10 bill and a piece of $1 bill.
