The New Year 2010 starts with a bang for Magnus Carlsen. This Norwegian teenager chess player is now ranks as the world number one, as reported by washingtonpost.com. Previously, the youngest chess number one player in the world was held by a Russian teenager, Garry Kasparov, when he was at 20-year-old, and held the world champ for most of the 1980s.
Other world top chess players for 2010 include Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) and Viswanathan Anand (India).
