The human-made tallest building in the planet, Burj Dubai Tower, is set to open for business on January 4, 2010. In the meantime, real estate values in Dubai continue to drop since the global recession started about two years ago. According to AFP news, downtown Dubai commercial rental rates have dropped over 55% during the past twelve months.
As per AFP news report, "The 800-metre (2,700 foot) tall skyscraper is the centrepiece of a 20 billion dollar new shopping district, Downtown Burj Dubai, which also includes 30,000 apartments and the Dubai Mall, which claims its space for 1,200 shops makes it the world's biggest indoor shopping centre."
