A new study by America’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found every one out of every 110 had been diagnosed with autism, or 1 percent of the total samples, as reported by washingtonpost.com. The study was based on medical records of over 300,000 8-year-olds in 2006. The study also found that the decease is more likely hit boys than girls. The ratio for boys is one in 70 boys, while the ratio for girls is one in 315 girls.
The revealing CDC data showing high ratio of American kids had been diagnosed with autism continue to concerning health experts in America. As washingtonpost.com wrote:
The reason for the increase remains unclear, she said. It could be due at least in part to more children being diagnosed with one of the conditions rather than an actual increase in how many children are developing the disability, she said. But "a true increase cannot be ruled out," she said, calling the estimate "concerning."
