Internet celebrates its 40th birthday today, as the first connection was made from UCLA to Stanford Research Institute (SRI) on October 29, 1969.
The first attempt to type-in a word “login” onto Interface Message Processors (IMP) crashed the computer, as a graduate student named Charley Kline, typed only “lo” instead of “login” into a terminal at UCLA campus.
