Health experts at Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine said that slightly fat people have longer life expectancy than those very skinny people. Skinny people's lives are shorter because they are more vulnerable to diseases such as lung disease (pneumonia) and blood vessels complications.
According to this Japanese study, people with some excess weight at age 40 live slightly longer (about 7 years more) than skinny people (their live could shorter by 5 years).
