There are about 78 million people in American which considered as the Boomers generation or people who were born from 1946 to 1964. A large number of people in the Boomers generation are now retiring from workforces and some have moved to rural areas to be closed to their children and family members.
One of the dilemma facing the Boomers are that they are getting harder to find a doctor in small towns. There are several reasons for the problem. Large cities offer metropolitan lifestyles, mix of cultural events, greater schools for kids, and variety of job opportunities for spouses and family members, therefore, top doctors prefer to live and work in large cities. Other reason as per washingtonpost.com includes that rural doctors receive less payment from Medicare for medical works than urban doctors due to lower operating costs in rural areas.
