There will be more merchants to accept PayPal as the world’s largest online-payment unit of eBay has signed a partnership with Discover. Discover is one of the four giants in the credit-card industry including Visa, Master, and American Express. With the PayPal partnership, Discover will soon get more transactions thru stores as PayPal has previously partnered with several top merchants including Home Depot, Abercrombie & Fitch, Barnes & Noble, Office Depot, and others.
PayPal was founded about 14-year ago and later was acquired by eBay, the world’s largest auction website. PayPal’s headquarter is located in Silicon Valley, San Jose, California. The online-payment system is very popular among early Internet adopters, and now has accumulated over 50 million active users in America alone. Most online merchants accept PayPal payment where customers deposited money thru debit cards, credit cards, checking accounts, or transferred from other PayPal users.
After the partnership, PayPal service is now available in retailers that accept Discover. Users can enter their smartphone number and few digits of personal identification number (PIN) on store’s cashier terminal. There is no need to swipe a credit card.
