A new type of survey to determine the best city for access to parks in America was conducted by the Trust for Public Land. Using scores on park access, park size, park infrastructure, and other factors, the report was created to rank 40 largest cities in America.
Among those large cities, San Francisco ranked first and earned four and half of a possible five points in the ParkScore rating system provided by the Trust for Public Land. The second spot also earned four and half of a possible five points and crowned Sacramento as one of the top city for access to parks in America. In term of scoring system, San Francisco earned 74 points of maximum 100 points, while Sacramento earned 73.5 points of total 100 points.
Other mega cities in the top 25 included #3 New York, #14 Chicago, and #25 Los Angeles. The worst city at #40 was Fresno. Among other cities finishing close the bottom were Charlotte, Louisville, and Mesa.
