America’s Social Security Administration has tabulated their data for 2011 and released its annual top baby names for boys and girls for 2011 this week. It appears that several celebrities have influenced on baby names. For example, Kourtney Kardashian, a reality show and mother of a son, names her son as Mason in 2009. Mason is the second most popular name in 2011.
For future parents and expectant parents, the Social Security Administration’s list of names could be a very helpful baby-name list. For boys, the top baby name was unchanged from previous years as Jacob is the number one choice. After Jacob, among top-10 names are the following Mason, William, Jayden, Noah, Michael, Ethan, Alexander, Aiden, and Daniel. Britain’s Prince William royal wedding in April 2011 could also help this name to remain in the top 10 list.
For girls, the top name was Sophia in 2011, compared to 2010, Isabella was number one. Among top-10 names for girls in 2011 are the following, Isabella, Emma, Olivia, Ava, Emily, Abigail, Madison, Mia, Chloe.
