One of the Great Wall nation’s most criticized human rights topics in recent year are related to the practice of transplanting organs from prisoners (incl. death-row inmates). Citing report from the China government-run Xinhua news agency which later published by AFP, Chinese officials confirmed the plans to stop such practice within the next three to five years.
In order to polish China’s image as the world’s new superpower, health experts have urged government to create a state-run organ-donation system and to abolish organ donations from prisoners. For many years China has used executed prisoners as their main source of organ transplants while many of those organs could have benefited affluence citizens.
